The Healing Power of Relationships

Overview
Good health is a prerequisite for a flourishing personal and professional life. When we’re in good health, we not only feel great, we are more able to share our talents to help make the world a better place. We can learn a lot about health and healing from the research of Dr. Dean Ornish. As a pioneering cardiologist in 1977, Dr. Ornish showed us for the first time that heart disease, and other chronic diseases, can be reversed with comprehensive lifestyle changes. These lifestyle changes include whole foods, a plant-based diet, smoking cessation, moderate exercise, stress management techniques including yoga and meditation, and psychosocial support.  Amazingly, Dr. Ornish found that quality of our supportive relationships is the most effective healing agent. Psychosocial support (a fancy name for love) is even more powerful than surgery and medication for preventing and healing chronic disease, and maximizing longevity.

Benita A. Esposito will share real life stories that illustrate the key points of this research. In addition, she will present 3 of the top proven skills that enable people to develop healing relationships. Use these skills in the workplace to create a healthy system-wide environment, and as a by-product, optimize the productivity and happiness of your employees.
